The anterior talofibular ligament ultrasound guided stress test

Mizrahi et al. (2018) have concluded that anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) stress shows significantly increased laxity among patients with clinical anterolateral ankle instability examined with ultrasound. They also have used stress #ultrasound to establish normal values for ATFL laxity.

Stress ultrasound of the ATFL is a real-time evaluation of the osseous and ligamentous anatomy of the lateral ankle ligamentous complex in maximal plantar flexion and talar tilt.
